date night.

Tonight I was lucky enough to have my husband all to myself. Since we have been in Charlotte, it seems we are constantly surrounded by friends, which we LOVE. However, we both think it is really important to take time for ourselves & just be with eachother so it was a perfect night. We started off with dessert first.. hello pinkberry :) afterwards we rented some movies and ate pizzzzaaa, yummm.

Easter Sunday, He is risen!

Easter was amazing. It was my first Easter without my family so I was a little anxious about enjoying the day when it came to festivities. Boy was I wrong. We started out the day with Easter baskets sent from my mom!! She was so cute. She put them together and covered them so they wouldnt spill everywhere during shipment. They were perfect! Then… if that wasn’t already a great start, we walk out our front door and our great friend and neighbor Katrina had left us Easter surprises! SO sweet. We attended 3D Easter at Elevation Church. It was an awesome service. Pastor Furtick is so creative and is always looking for different ways to bring people in and show them the Gospel, I really admire him for that. He doesn’t care if anyone downs his approach, he just does what he feels God calls him to do. After church we went over to one of the Eagles Host Family’s house, and had so much food!! All of our friends were there and it really did feel like a home away from home. We got to hide eggs for the little kids Easter Egg Hunt, and later in the day we even got to participate in an Adult Easter Egg Hunt… score! It was a great day. We finished off the night playing games with ‘the fam’ :)
I missed Chris & I’s family so much but we felt really blessed that God provided us with a family out here! I can’t wait for more fellowship in the months to come!

 Spring has sprung!

It has arrived..

The soccer season has officially started…
Time for hot summer nights, concession food, pictures, GREAT fellowship with girlfriends while “watching” the game :) and my personal favorite.. my hubby looking his best in his jersey! I love this time of year. Chris gets to thrive in what he loves every single day & we are SO blessed to be in Charlotte this time around, where we have met some of the most amazing people. I for one, am thrilled
Be Blessed!

Thank you Pastor Furtick

Thanks to the newest blog entry from our Pastor I have come to an AWESOME realization that I had to share :)
For the longest time I have had a weird, unsettled feeling about my “coming to Christ” moment. Whenever asked the question of when it happened, I haven’t known how to respond. I have been raised a Christian all my life & always had a wonderful example before me through my parents & family. I’ve always been a believer, always gone to church, never strayed from God… the list goes on. So I haven’t felt like I had a huge stand out moment.
SO many of my friends have such amazing testimonies of how they lost their way and were so far from Christ and how He saved them and restored them. Their stories are AMAZING & I am always in awe of the Lord when I hear of His amazing works in others lives, especially people so close to my heart. But, as much as I didn’t want it to, hearing their stories always made me question my own. I would never hope to experience pain & suffering, but to see the change in their lives was so inspiring & made me wonder if I could ever be as close to Him as they were. Or would it never be that way because I was never far?
Today, the Lord answered my question & my prayer through Pastor Furtick. His quote that stood out to me was this, “My goal in parenting is to raise my kids to have a boring testimony. In other words, to stay out of trouble and love Jesus all their lives.”
It became crystal clear. God’s plan is different for all of us. We all make our own choices, and we will all have a different journey back to the Father. Telling myself this before was harder to believe, until I read his post. I have managed to stay out of trouble and love Jesus all of my life and that is okay! That has been my path. Another quote, “A person’s testimony doesn’t have to be spectacularly sinful to be significant.” This is SO true & something I personally needed to hear. Jesus doesn’t care how we ‘came to Him’, He just cares that we did! Ahh! Such an amazing revalation for me haha. Today I embrace my boring testimony :) I love Jesus & I am grateful that He has shown me a different perspective on this, so that I can not be caught up on ‘how I came to know Him’ and I can solely be focused on knowing, loving, and living for Him.
Love YOUR testimony whatever it is. Heartbreaking.. joyful.. or just plain boring :) Christ loves us all and is excited for us to give Him our everything. Praise Jesus!
Love, Hillary

Stamp Out Human Trafficking 5K

Today, Project Love was lucky enough to set up a booth at Central Church's 5K to help stamp out human trafficking. My beautiful friend Michelle organized the entire event and invited me to be a part of it. I felt so blessed to be a part of such a huge cause and it really meant a lot to me to have Project Love donate. Here are some of  pictures of the event, Michelle did an incredible job :)

Painting Day.

Spent the day helping my friend Michelle make signs for the 5K she is putting together with her church to raise money to help stop human trafficking! This was our favorite sign :)
