emerson sloan || part one

emerson is here! a week fresh now, and the most stunning + soft little angel... it's clear she's straight out of Heaven, and i CAN'T believe my kids were ever so little (cry my eyes out). i was privileged to be alongside taylor and tylar for as much as my two would allow + was so happy to capture a few shots leading up to her birth. taylor was a stunning example of a woman in labor + i pray that i had and will have as much grace as she did. tylar was so loving towards her, and there for her every need, it was so sweet to be on the outside of that scenario + see the love of a husband displayed for a wife in need... praise you Lord for marriage + for sweet healthy babies, bring 'em on!

^^^love story of a lifetime, he SERIOUSLY loves his auntie tay
^^^hooligans
^^^it feels like we've been in the hospital for a baby every 9 months for the past 2.5 years, and we truly have been, this time as visitors :)

chalk art festival!

a month or more ago, we went to the chalk art festival in denver, where they block off a bunch of streets + some seriously talented artists cover the roads with chalk art! i was blown away at how insanely awesome and detailed they were, and some so beautiful. we ate street food, found out that abel loves sauerkraut, lucy is a fan of strawberry ice cream (who isn't?) & i want to be a chalk artist :)) ... thank you Denver for providing us with a gorgeous setting, perfect for memory making & sun soaking. I love days like these.

our 4th of july!

three things.
1) the picture above is my new favorite + deserves to be blown up and hung on the wall in our home, period.
2) i have computer access! three cheers for staying up entirely too late + getting this post written + some photos edited before returning this laptop to it's generous owner :)
3) fourth of july weekend was wonderful.
...hot + sunny, complete with parade, bbq, fireworks + family.

we took the kids to the parade in the morning which will be one of our little family's traditions. the past two years honestly haven't been too spectacular, but it feels like the thing to do + we love going anyway. we followed it up with some bluegrass music at the avery house, a stroll around old town + a pit stop at the farmer's market for some peaches! later we spent some time at ashton's grilling, and the kids ran around naked, splashing + having the best time ever, then stopped by city park to mingle with some friends, and finished the day by watching the fireworks from the framework of our addition... so special, i can't wait to live in that place :)
hope you had a happy weekend too!

^^^abel loved collecting candy + flyers in his hat, and him waving that flag around was the cutest :)
^^^the chubby little hands slay me, also she looooooves peaches
^^^scrunch face forever + ever, amen
