pumpkin patchin'

happy fall y'all! have i not said that yet?! this past weekend was the first time we have really given fall our full attention, and i'm so glad we did. I've since been thinking of halloween costumes non stop, baked TWO rounds of pumpkin bread, eaten pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin... that, and broken out the christmas jams only a handful of times(embarrassed monkey emoji). this time of year is so wonderful, and as i've said before, having kiddos makes anything wonderful feel that much more special.
this year, we finally checked out the pumpkin patch at bartel farms! i've seen these cute little wooden pumpkin signs around our area for two years now, and was happy to finally see what they were all about! what a cute place; pumpkins, farm animals, and the sunflowers! gah-lee, they were so beautiful! abel loved running through all of the lanes, must be even more magical when they are taller than you! we got kettle corn + took a million photos, auntie tay + baby emeryn joined us, and we felt free of stress or worry or anything in-between. i love fall, i love my family, and i am forever thankful for this wonderful life.

^^^the love in this simple little photo :)

pumpkin pecan waffles, just another reason to love this time of year

I am on team pumpkin when it comes to fall. even more so when it's accompanied by chocolate chips or cinnamon or anything fall spice-ish. i'm also a fan of breakfast. put these two together? pumpkin pecan waffles.

one of my favorite breakfast restaurants had one that was sinfully good but they shut down last year... womp womp. so when i got the hankering for one this year, my friend and i did some googling & found this recipe. well, yum. they turned out great (as if i suspected otherwise). we didn't make the maple pecan cream to go with, we just topped with pecans and used syrup, but i'm sure that stuff is dang good, so YOU should make it if you do this recipe & let me know how it is! i experimented again with these, added chocolate chips & skipped the pecans, and i could have eaten only those for a whole day they were so good.

anyway! happy pumpkining to you! go eat some waffles :)

osborn farm + check marks on our fall bucket list

hello!
over the weekend we got our pumpkin on. if you've been around here for a minute or two you may remember us kicking off fall with osborn farm the past couple of years ( HERE & HERE ) . we continued that tradition this year & i'm so glad we did. i am pretty sure that abel thought he had died and gone to Heaven seeing THAT many pumpkins in one place, in one day... boy loves his pumpkin & i love that about him. the farm is such a cute place... farmer's market, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, hayrides... you had me at pumpkin, but all these things combined are absolutely a win in my book.
i'm so happy that fall is finally here! we have TWO littles this year & a whole lot of stuff planned for the season! we finally (after talking about doing it for years) put together a fall bucket list of things we'd like to experience & do, and osborn farm and a real live pumpkin patch are now officially checked off, hoorah! we're off to a great start! next up, bake a homemade pie... anyone have any good recipes to share?! hit me.

^^^lucy thoroughly enjoyed her time as well, in case you wondered ;)
