...but tonight FOUR bugs that i have NEVER seen before in my life, flew into the house when i opened the door to let the dogs out. completely blind-sided me!

ewww.

our house is in the woods, & i don't think that tonight was the end of the bugs... in fact i'm pretty sure it's only the beginning. it's about to get hotter && more humid, which only means MORE bugs.

gross.

i don't mean to sound like a princess, but growing up in colorado really spoiled me to things like NO humidity, clean air, NO bugs, gorgeous views, hiking at your fingertips, hurricanes/earthquakes/tornados... what's that?

these are just a few of the small upsides to colorado. don't get me wrong. i love the carolinas too. the people are great and... well, the people are great! kidding. it's green & we love our church & cupcrazed too. ha!

honestly, i'm so happy with our life right now that i honestly don't care where we are. i would LOVELOVELOVE to be near our family & friends in colorado and AWAY from the bugs, but we have such an amazing family of friends out here as well, and this truly has become our second home.

 

so i guess we'll stay.

over the weekend (part 3) easter!

we celebrated Easter at the winter’s house! they are such a sweet family, and have hosted many of the eagles players over the years! we celebrated there last year as well! it is tough being far away from family, especially when it comes to holidays, but we are SO blessed to be in such an amazing community out here in Charlotte! we have created our own little family & are truly blessed by them!

aaaaand this year, my mom sent us a handmade spring wreath!! IN LOVE.

part 1 & part 2 of our weekend!

over the weekend (part 2) strawberry picking!

friday, we headed over to springs farm & picked our very own fresh strawberries! SO much fun :)) and something i can cross off of my ‘small’ bucket list, or in other words, very attainable activities or things that would make my heart sing …. other things on this list include: having my very own cupcake cake (check. got this crossed off last year), having a cup of hot chocolate with a design in the foam, having a harry potter marathon (currently in the process), grape stomping, having a murder mystery party, etc… you know, the usual small bucket list items. anyway… look at all the fun we had! if you missed part one of our weekend, you can check it out HERE!

over the weekend (part 1) husband's birthday!

birthdays for cute men like mine, deserve surprises! so i woke up early, invited ‘the fam’ over for husband’s favorite spread, and SURPRISE! birthday breakfast with your favorite peeps? he loved it… and so did i. just another perfect saturday morning with constant reminders of how blessed & grateful we are for everything the Lord has given us. oh, and the donuts were good too :)

baby romeo came & met harlow! (she was VERY intrigued)

gorgeous green eyes, a tan like he walked off the beach, the muscles, the hair... oh this post isn't supposed to be about how hot he is?? ooopsies.

today he is celebrating 25 years of life! praise the LORD for the day he was born & all of the events that lead him to me! i am thankful for his parents & their love for eachother. i am thankful that he loves the LORD more than he loves me & leads me to do the same. i am SUPER thankful that he chooses me to love each and every day. i love every bit of him. head to toe, inside & out. he makes me whole & i wouldn't want to do life with anyone else.
