we are moving!

y'all!
after searching & searching, not being ready, being disappointed, things falling through, etc.... AS USUAL, God knew what He was doing & had a better plan :)
we finally found a home!
isn't it precious?!?!
gah! we love it!
it's everything we wanted but way more!
since the first time i visited fort collins, the adorable houses in old town stole my heart! cozy, cute, unique, vintage... perfection in my eyes :)
what do i love even more about OUR house though?! it has the look & feel of old town, but it's on an acre, RIGHT by the lake with a mountain view & has a cuuuuutie address!
yea the pictures below... from our yard. NOT COMPLAINING.
we are SO very excited!
we move in in early January!
finally, a house to make a home! a place to decorate & have all of our things in one place for the FIRST time since we've been married! a place to host our friends & family! snuggle on our couch together, and SO exciting... a place to bring our baby home to!
the Lord has seriously answered so many of our prayers over the past week & really just lined things up for us in a way that has been undeniable. i, for one, am incredibly thankful! i just feel like after so much of our lives being up in the air & at times unclear, it is all finally settling & unraveling as it should.
Praise you Lord.
anyhoooo! i am absoLUTELY going to post pictures & do a little home tour once we are moved in & settled! for now though, here's a little preview of the outside!
happy friday!

a baby shower!

invite
over the weekend my little sister threw me a baby shower! && let me just say that it was all that i dreamed my baby shower would be and more!
completely beautiful && wonderful.
she made 100% sure that every little detail that my heart desired came to life && that i felt so special. on top of that, we felt SO SO loved by all of the guests that drove, flew, and took time out of their lives to celebrate our little blessing… including my mom who surprised me by driving in from arizona to be there! talk about the greatest gift ever :) God has blessed us with SO many amazing people in our lives && i am just so thankful for their generosity && love! i really don't even know how to describe how grateful i was && STILL am. thank you, thank you, thank you to EVERYONE who made this weekend truly great! i love you!

whether we end up in Charlotte again come springtime, or if this is the end of our chapter there... Charlotte will ALWAYS have such a special place in our hearts. not only do some of our now, life-long friends still live there, but it is also the place where we...
lived in our very first married house together, discovered gingeronnis, grew closer to the Lord, met some of the most special people in our lives, really started devoting more time to this little blog, discovered pinterest... umm BIG deal, and my personal favorite... it is the city where we found out we were pregnant with our very first little baby!
Thank you Charlotte for being awesome & giving us such a fun & beautiful chapter of life!

okay… so it’s not ALL that i did.
it’s just one of my favorite pictures EVER of my littlest brother and i, and i felt it deserved it’s own post. i love him & i loved home. focusing undivided attention on family & fun is the best reason to be M.I.A. from all things internet/social media. that being said, glad to be back! more to come!
happy thursday!

So Long, Insecurity

photo 4
"when we allow God's truth to eclipse every false positive && let our eyes spring open to the treasure we HAVE, there in His glorious reflection we'll also see the treasure we ARE."
a year ago, my beautiful friend jessica sent me a book to read that she had loved & learned so much from. at the time of receiving it, i opened it up and started reading the forward… i am a person who hasn’t always loved to read, and still to this day, if i’m not in the right mind set or immediately intrigued by the first page, i know that i would be better served saving that particular book (or reading in general) for a later date. so that is exactly what i did. almost a year later, and a few other books along the way, i opened the book again and began reading. this time around i could not put it down. i guess waiting was the right thing to do after all! good thing my friend is a patient person :)
this week i finished the book, ‘So Long, Insecurity"’ by Beth Moore. i feel full of encouragement. i feel like encouraging others. i feel like the Lord opened my eyes to the tools that can really help me say so long to insecurity for good. we as women, especially in today’s culture are walking insecurity magnets. not to say insecurity is a new thing, one of my favorite things she talks about in the book is how insecurity is as old as time, but back then women were comparing themselves to the 10 people they knew, where as women today are comparing themselves to not only the people they know, but also the hundreds of women in hollywood as well. its unfortunate, but it’s not going away. what we CAN change is how we respond and think! Praise the Lord for healing! the writer covers insecurity in SO many forms. i wish that every woman would read this book! seriously. so if you are in need of new material, i vote this :)
happy wednesday!

we have to move.

not really.
...but tonight FOUR bugs that i have NEVER seen before in my life, flew into the house when i opened the door to let the dogs out. completely blind-sided me!
ewww.
our house is in the woods, & i don't think that tonight was the end of the bugs... in fact i'm pretty sure it's only the beginning. it's about to get hotter && more humid, which only means MORE bugs.
gross.
i don't mean to sound like a princess, but growing up in colorado really spoiled me to things like NO humidity, clean air, NO bugs, gorgeous views, hiking at your fingertips, hurricanes/earthquakes/tornados... what's that?
these are just a few of the small upsides to colorado. don't get me wrong. i love the carolinas too. the people are great and... well, the people are great! kidding. it's green & we love our church & cupcrazed too. ha!
honestly, i'm so happy with our life right now that i honestly don't care where we are. i would LOVELOVELOVE to be near our family & friends in colorado and AWAY from the bugs, but we have such an amazing family of friends out here as well, and this truly has become our second home.

so i guess we'll stay.
