it's my birthday...

& i don't have a clue what husband has planned for the day, but i know if it involves him + abel, or any sort of family or friends, it will be the best birthday ever.

... a pink frosted cupcake somewhere in the mix couldn't hurt either. that's all.

why we 'lick the spoon' + you should too...

you know you've done it at least once + if you're being honest, probably a lot more than that. growing up, we loved when my mom would bake! we got more excited about getting the mixing beaters, the spoon, or best... the BOWL, than we did about what she was actually baking! some might call it bad parenting, ya know... with the raw eggs + all of the other silly worries that have polluted 'the new generation', but i think it builds character... 

okay not really, but it definitely makes for fun memories + traditions to carry on to your own families! i intend to let all of our kids 'fight' over the beaters, only to find out that the 'loser' gets the spoon, which has waaay more anyway + that they'll all get to share the bowl in the end.

that's my two cents... ya know, since you asked ;)

 so, i let abel lick the frosting spoon. if it's the worst thing i do this year... i think we'll all be okay!

it's because they are delicious. strawberry cuprazed cupcakes are my favorite, so yesterday when they had THREE different types of strawberry flavors available... NOT buying ALL of them wasn't even a choice.

also, since husband is not a huge cupcake fan [[scoff]] i was able to get him a little pre-birthday treat.

3rd time is the charm.

as mentioned in a previous post, it is my goal to do some more "from scratch" yummies this year! this was my first time making cupcakes not from a box! the first two trys were a bust... maybe the recipes i used? however, this third try.... deeeeeee-lish. so long betty crocker...

sister's birthday.

my big sister had her birthday this weekend!! best part? I got to be there to spend it with her! I love her so much. all three of us girls are all so different from eachother but we do have one thing in common and that is love for eachother! lovelovelove. i'm so happy that i was able to hug my big sissy on her special day & i hope i was able to make it that much more special for her :)
