Isla's 2nd Birthday Breakfast!

Isla's "birpay" breakfast was sweet & simple.
Doing something special for our kids on their birthday morning is always always my very favorite part of their birthday celebration as a whole. The early part of the day is the sweetest at our house, and having their little faces light up when they wake to balloons or flowers or whatever it is, is the cherry on top. I just love making them feel special & celebrated, and i hope they remember it as they grow.
Can't believe our girl is two. My very favorite two year old in the world.

Two Years of Sweet Isla Jane

I really cannot believe Isla has been ours for two years. My third, my BABY. The last two years have personally been some of my most emotionally challenging thus far, and Isla was my sweetest sunshine throughout. Something about her special soul is healing & comforting, and as strange as it may sound, even at a few months old it was like she already possessed the gift of empathy.
She is bright & beautiful, and special in a million ways... and I couldn't string enough words together to truly express just how much we love her. Happy Birthday Isla Jane! We love you forever!
Some of my favorite pics from her second year of life below, and a link to last year's birthday post HERE, and when she was born HERE!

a happy little gift guide: isla's turning TWO!

one  \\  two  \\  three  \\  four  \\  five  \\  six

Isla turns two this week & I’m so excited to celebrate her again! She obviously has no requests or needs as far as gifts go, but it’s always so fun to put together these little gift guides.
1. This straw bag is the very cutest. She’s always stealing all of my bags and dragging them around the house, so I think she’d enjoy one that looked like mine but was all her own.
2. These fairy friends books have the prettiest illustrations and are by far some of the better primer books out there. We read every night with the kids and books are my favorite thing to buy for them. I like the simplicity of these. We have the "Opposites" one and the kids ended up memorizing it & “read” it all on their own.
3. Dress up is one of our kids favorite things to do. They will always choose activity or imagination over any toy, and our costume box definitely needs updating! The girls love alllll princess dresses, and all three of them love to play super hero’s or pirates or wizards at Hogwarts!
4. How sweet is this swan?!
5. Both of the girls refuse pants most of the time and even at night they’ll choose a nightgown over a set these days. This one looks simple and pretty, and these are really fun too!
6.  This year might finally be the year we are going to get the ride on jeep. We’ve talked about one for a couple years now, almost got lucy one, almost got it for abel, and in the end had parties for them instead, because I really just love a good gathering & any reason to celebrate, decorate or eat!

Thanks for stopping in! xoxo

A year and a half!

Isla Jane... I love you so much.
You are special in a million ways.
You've got lots to say, your own opinions, an easy go with the flow pace with your siblings, but also an independence all your own. Being like Lucy & Abel is your highest priority and hangry is a very real thing with you. You're dramatic and empathetic and public outings aside, you still win all the gold stars. I love your little hands on my face, and your kisses from across the room. I love finding you doing your own thing when everyone else has moved on to something else. I love your tummy, your messy hair, your expressive eyebrows, and the weight of your body sleeping on my chest.
I love every bit of you bittycakes. Forever.

A Very Happy Party in the Park!

I will start by sharing a personal record, and that is me posting this the day it happened... say what?! For reals had a post scheduled for today, knowing ahead of time that there was no way I'd have put together this post yet, but look at me go :)
We had a little birthday gathering with family for Isla + her cousin Mila at the park, and it was perfectly sweet. Why we don't do every birthday party this way is my thought. Simple, sweet, + easy clean up... note to self. We ate, the kids played, and all at my very favorite park here in town. It's the same park where we had Abel's 1/2 birthday at (HERE), also Lucy's 1st Birthday (HERE), and it's the very same park where the sneaky squirrel ate our muffins (HERE).
It was a happy happy day + Isla proved to be my favorite baby some more :)
^^^How sweet is Mila, and my beautiful sister. SO special raising kids with your sisters.
^^^Happy Birthday Isla Girl, you are so special.

isla jane || 4 months

I cannot believe that this little beauty is 4 months old... NO. I can't remember a life without her + my confession is that I am completely and utterly addicted to her. Addicted to her soft skin, her striking blue eyes, the fuzzy head, alllll the rolls, her little giggle, the sparkle that is her very own. + the bottom lip sucking you guys, I can't, it's the cutest little granny look ever. I feel like I keep saying that she is our little prize and so easy, but she truly truly is. I've believed all my babies were easy + wonderful, but her place in line I think adds to hers. Third babies should be easy, as a mom it's like you've earned it at this point... not to mention, all of the action with your older kids, enhances the sweet + easy nature of a baby. She's happy all the time, can't say that about my other two or myself haha. As for milestones and what not... she rolls over + turtle spins + laughs. She sits in a bumbo, has continued only waking one time a night until last night (praying that was a fluke + not some 4 month sleep regression action.. no way isla, fight the power), she loves blankies + is about ready for the bounce bounce. We love her endlessly, i love you isla, i love you love you love you!!

i s l a j a n e

we've had our little isla jane for 12 whole days now + she is the sweetest heavenly perfection there is.
I can't believe we are here again, another angel baby... how much life we've lived in only 3.5 short years... becoming parents, losing parents, house buying/building, THREE babies... it's been an incredible ride, full of both bitter + sweet, and I am just so thankful to be here again... motherhood.
my cup is filled to the brim + over. I've said it before + I'll say it again, motherhood is where I've happily found my sweet spot, thank you Jesus.
these pictures are everythinggggg, thank you ashton for capturing so many of them!
